Sound Redesign
For this project, I completely rebuilt the audio for an Apex Legends gameplay sequence, replacing the original sound design from the ground up. Having played the game extensively, I used my familiarity with its characters, weapons, and overall sound palette to inform the redesign and create audio that felt authentic to the world of Apex Legends while still reflecting my own approach to sound design.
I designed and implemented the full range of audio for the sequence, including character movement and actions, environmental ambience, weapon fire, weapon handling and reloads, power-ups, and impacts. I also created the game's interface sounds, including the loading sequence, player selection, and countdown, treating the UI as an important part of the overall sonic identity rather than simply an afterthought.
The project gave me the opportunity to approach a game sequence as a complete audio system, considering how individual sounds work together to establish character, gameplay, pacing, and atmosphere. Rather than focusing on a single sound-design element, I wanted the finished redesign to feel cohesive from the moment the player loads in through the gameplay itself.
